UK’s first ever festival dedicated to electro swing returns to Birmingham for Bank Holiday on May 1st.
Vintage inspired festival, Swingamajig brings a unique concept back to Birmingham a for its biggest showcase on Sunday from 2pm.
The one-day event is located against the backdrop of Digbeth’s railway arches at The Rainbow Venues, supplying a fine selection of DJs to keep the Swingamajiger’s dancing until the early hours.
For those of a Swing persuasion, the festival brings an all-start cast to keep the tunes rolling. Matt Da Hat & Wom join forces as CatJam, creating a break bass vibe for the dancefloor. Jazzy house hombre Phat Sam brings his part man, part analogue beat machine Bass6. alongside Cirque De La Nuit star Troy Savoy.
Three times winner of UK DMC Championship, JFB, is a master of the turntables and will also headline at Swingamajig 2016.
Funk fans are in for a treat with an appearance from Father Funk, whose masterful fusions of huge beats, monster basslines and perfect sampling, make his tracks truly memorable and sure to get the crowd moving.
Birmingham regular Aries provides the jungle soundtrack -a junglist producer and DJ with a fistful of exclusive dubs – whilst Phibes brings some drum & bass shockwaves to the festival.
Swingamajig provides the finest gypsy swing music, dance, cabaret, walkabout art installations, street food, performance and over 4000 of some of the best-dressed ladies and gents in the region.
