sneaks&peaks: Edition 8 returns on Saturday, April 2nd and is bringing some of the finest streetwear and trainer brands to Birmingham.
Heaven’s depiction can vary but when you unite a bunch of sneaker freaks, sneaks&peaks isn’t far from their version of paradise. Taking place twice a year, hundreds of trainer fans head to Birmingham for the largest trainer festival in the Midlands.
A haven for those in search of footwear turned to deadstock or a pair that won’t be found in your usual high street shop, the date is likely to be imprinted in the diaries of those seeking their next find.
sneaks&peaks began back in 2012 with just two tables of kicks, one DJ and a few mates with a spray can. Four years on, Edition 8 will be the biggest event to date, moving to a brand new venue, with a huge floor space, which means even more stalls on show! They’ve also linked up with the guys over at Digbeth Dining Club to bring ticket holders an array of street food options to gorge on.
With the growing cult of trainer heads, it’s not just about buying the latest kicks, it’s about the culture and the community. People travel from all over the UK and abroad, all with the same common interest… trainers. sneaks&peaks is a hub for admirers to communicate about their infatuation of trainers, streetwear and street art.
John Bryan, founder of sneaks&peaks, explains “When I started this event, there was a real lack of exposure for local talent and no platforms for people to show what they were creating. The Midlands didn’t have anything like what I was seeing in London so I pushed forward for this to work and here we are!”
sneaks&peaks will be taking place at 119, The Rainbow Venues on Saturday, 2nd April.
